Bangor - 16 April - 3 of 22

390 (!) runners today at Bangor’s Ward Park a record for this venue after last week’s record of 363 runners.  UK-wide, it’s been an interesting week for the parkrun community – 14000 people signed up this week – related, surely, to Stoke Gifford Parish Council’s decision to charge parkrun runners for use of the public Little Stoke Park facilities.

Today’s photo album is here, parkrun results here.

Following a work India trip, a pause in my conditioning and a cold, I was just aiming to complete the run, which I did, coming 386th of 390.  No stop for a swig of tea or photo next week!

It was good to have BT colleague Mark Crothers running with me again.  I am getting better at keeping my head up, to enable better running, sight and breathing.

It was also great to have Anne Killen from BT, David Mark from Corrymeela, Alistair Shaw running today.  A strong turnout from our local Carnalea Methodist Church – thanks to Rev Fiona Mcrea, Ken and many friends for the cheering encouragement and photos.

Today was the 83rd birthday of my mum Primrose and her triplet sisters Marigold & Iris.  Thanks to sister Rozzie, Maurice and #TimPageFitForLife PR Director Page for bringing mum to enjoy today’s spectacle.

Next week, up to Portrush – parkrun UK’s only beach venue.
